UWA Databases

Onsite UWA Databases 

The University of Western Australia (UWA) Medical and Dental Library has a large collection of dentistry resources.

North Metropolitan TAFE students studying at the Oral Health Centre of Western Australia (OHCWA) are registered with the UWA Library as reciprocal borrowers which will give them borrowing rights.

You may borrow hard copy  books and journals but online resources are only accessible within the UWA library.

As a reciprocal borrower at the UWA Library, it is your responsibility to know and abide by the UWA Library rules.

Librarians at the UWA Medical and Dental Library are available to assist you to find information for your assignments.

  • AustHealth: indexes a wide range of uniquely Australian health information much of which is available as full text
  • Dental Abstracts: keeps you informed of developments and advances in general dentistry and its specialties in an easy-to-read, abstract format
  • Dentistry & Oral Sciences Source (DOSS): indexes hundreds of dentistry journals and contains mostly full text
  • Dental Update: is the leading dental journal for CPD (Continuing Professional Development) and education
  • Medline: A  source of international biomedical literature.  Coverage includes clinical medicine, dentistry, nursing, health administration, nutrition and more
  • Scopus: is an abstract and citation database of research literature.
  • Web of Science (in Web of Knowledge): enables researchers to track where, by whom, and how often an article has been cited.
