Allied Health Assistance: FAQs

FAQs

If you are a current student at North Metropolitan TAFE you have access to our 6 libraries located at Balga, Joondalup, Leederville, Mt Lawley, Midland and Perth. Your student card is also your library card and your photocopy / printing card.

Students can borrow up to 8 items at any one time. Child Care and Education Support students are also entitled to 10 items from the Toy Libraries.

Most items, including toys, can be borrowed for four weeks. There are short term loans for high demand items (eg. textbooks and certain DVDs) so check with your campus library. You can borrow and return items at any of our campus libraries.

If no one else has requested the item, you may renew it once by phone or email, or in person at the library. If your loans are not overdue, you can sign in to our library catalogue using your network login and renew items yourself. [Help Sheet]

If an item you require is on loan or at another campus library, you may request it by placing a hold on it. You can do this yourself by signing in to the library catalogue, or ask a library staff member for assistance.

Overdue notices are sent and failure to return items may incur charges for replacement costs.

The library has a large collection of electronic resources - journals, videos and eBooks. On-campus you do not need to log in; off-campus you have to log in using your network login.

MFDs (Multi-Function Devices) are available at our libraries for printing and copying. You add credit to your card using the payment kiosk. Charges for printing and photocopying are black and white A4 = 20c [A3 = 30c]; colour A4 = 50c [A3 = 70c]. You can also scan documents and save them to a USB on the library MFDs. There is no charge for scanning.

You can borrow from any other WA TAFE Library; Edith Cowan University Libraries; Murdoch University Library and Curtin University Library. You need to take your student card and proof of enrolment. Access to computers at other institutions is usually not possible.
