Find Relevant Teaching Resources

Are you

  • Scoping a new training package?
  • Updating your units or blackboard shell?
  • Writing or updating assessments?

We can help!

Contact your Campus Librarian, we will look at the elements and performance criteria for your training package and source resources for you including

  • eBooks
  • Online Journal Articles
  • Streaming Video
  • Web sites
  • Books and Physical Journals

We will collate all this information and share with you in a spreadsheet specific to each unit or assessment.

Order New Library Resources

The NMT Library Collection Development Policy has a focus on the provision of Online Resources where possible. However we are aware that not all resources can be purchased in an online format due to a number of constraints including cost and copyright implications.

  • We identify and order new resources in a variety of formats to support teaching and learning
  • We encourage Lecturers to recommend resources for us to purchase
  • We trial new online databases to see if they will add value to our teaching and learning and we ask for lecturer assessment
  • We will purchase physical books if specifically requested or if we cannot reasonably purchase an online version

We value the input of the Lecturing staff in this process as we are keenly aware that you are the content experts

Professional Development in Searching the Library's eResources

We offer ongoing professional development to all staff in:

  • Using our Library Catalogue
  • Finding and sharing our Online Resources
  • Copyright information and compliance

We are available to:

  • Present at professional development days
  • Attend staff meetings to update sections on what's new and upskill staff as a group
  • Orient New Lecturers in the availability of Library Resources at NMT
  • Conduct one on one sessions with any lecturer who would like to improve their information retrieval skills.

Just give your Campus Librarian a call or send an email and we can either come to you or you can come to us.

Create and Update Course Resources Guides

We have a large collection of Course Resources guides to support both staff in their subject delivery and students in their studies.

The Library will

  • Keep the guides up to date
  • Add new resources as we purchase or find them
  • Add new topic pages where necessary
  • Map guides to new training packages as they are scoped
  • Advise you of the best path forward in sharing resources

The Lecturers can

  • Ask for resources to be added to, or removed from, a course resources guide
  • Speak to your Campus Librarian about whether a new guide should be created for a new course
  • Ask for a new topic page to be created if you feel it would be beneficial for your students
  • Speak to the Librarians about sharing library resources in Blackboard
