Check lecturer requirements about about adding Blackboard course materials to the Reference List. If a Reference List entry is not required, treat the resource as Personal Communication. See "Other Sources" tab.

Where an online dictionary is constantly updated and not archived, use n.d. for the date of publication and include "Retrieved" and date of retrieval.

  • the title moves to the author position when there is no author
  • if the author and publisher are the same, omit the publisher
  • include a retrieval date when the source material may change over time
  • if there is no date on the webpage, replace the year with (n.d.).

If the Reference List contains more than one work by the same author, the Reference List should be sorted alphabetically by author then by date. If there are multiple duplicate authors in the same year, alphabetic lower case letters are used to distinguish between entries as per below example.
