Personal Communications include private letters, memos, emails from unarchived sources, traditional knowledge or oral histories of indigenous groups, personal interviews, telephone conversations, live speeches, unrecorded classroom lectures, messages from unarchived discussion groups or online bulletin boards, and similar resources.

Personal Communications are not included in the Reference List, as these sources do not provide recoverable data. They are cited in the text only.

Note: Provide the Initials and Surname of the communicator and the date.

Referencing a PowerPoint presentation you have created still requires the same elements as any other document reference: an in-text reference and an end-text reference. Create a Reference List on the final slide and place your in-text references at the bottom of the relevant slide. Check out the examples in the presentation below.

James Cook University provides an excellent  guide on using the works of Aboriginal people:  First Nations Works
This guide provides details on different reference types.
