Work Health and Safety: Australian Standards

Welcome

All staff and students will need to complete a one-off registration with their TAFE email address to access the Standards database. Students must set up their Microsoft Office 365 account prior to registering.

Mandatory Registration to Access Standards

Click on database link at the top of this page or click on the Intertek Inform logo below to go to the new registration/login page.

  • Click on New Registration to commence.
  • You must use your staff or student email address. Personal email addresses are not accepted.
  • Create a password according to the rules provided.
  • Follow the prompts and select Central Regional TAFE from the Company and Business Unit fields drop-down menus. This is essential.
  • Tick the Confirm button and click Complete Registration
  • A verification email will be sent to your registered email address. Check your junk mail if not in your inbox!
  • Confirm your sign-in registration as prompted in the verification notification email.
  • A successful confirmation notice will display.
  • Click on the Log In button to sign in and begin searching.

Accessing Australian Standards

  • Standards are to be used for educational purposes only.
  • To open a standard on a personal device you must have installed an approved PDF reader.
  • Select an approved PDF reader below to install on your personal device.
  • You may need to update the Adobe PDF settings as outlined in the guide link below.

Mobile App

  • Once registered you can then download the app to access standards anywhere, anytime.

Search Tips

  • You can search all standards; however, you will only be able to view the standards in our subscription. Lecturers can request standards to be added to our subscription from within the database.
  • Search for a standard by document number or by title. There are a number of filters you can apply to your search if required.
  • Click on Collection to view topic lists of standards.

Viewing Standards

  • Standards can be viewed on a PC, laptop, tablet or mobile device.
  • Click on the View Online button to open the standard in your browser.
  • When only the Download button is available, this means that the standard is contained within a Zip file and not able to be viewed online.
  • When viewing a standard, you can annotate, highlight, insert comments and share these with others.

Downloading and Printing

Downloading

All standards have Digital Rights Management enabled and this affects how you access and download standards. This cannot be bypassed.

  • Downloaded standards can only be opened within a PDF viewer. They cannot be opened in a browser.
  • Click on the Download button to download to your device.
  • Some standards may be downloaded within a Zip file. You will need to extract the files to save to your device.
  • Downloaded standards are locked to the specific device they are downloaded to. The download will last for our subscription period. You will need to download again when the subscription is renewed.
  • Downloaded standards are unable to be shared or stored on a network. Access is restricted to the user who downloaded it.

Printing

  • If you are downloading a Standard at home, you will need to have an approved PDF reader installed.
  • Make sure 'Enable all features' is selected when the standard has been opened.
  • Printed standards are watermarked with the following statement: Copyrighted material licensed to Intertek Inform^Central Regional TAFE.Further reproduction, distribution, storage or use on a network is prohibited. Printed / viewed by: [user email address] @ [Date/Time]
  • Lecturers may print multiple copies on campus for classroom use. These should be collected at the end of each class.

Digital Rights Management - Vitrium

  • Vitrium is the Digital Rights Management software used for accessing standards to ensure that users are not able to breach the publishers licence requirements.
  • You must use an approved PDF reader and have edited the settings as outlined in the help link below.

Standards Watch Lists

  • All users can add standards to their personal watch list. You can then monitor any changes or updates to a standard. These changes will also be sent to your registered email address.
  • Click on the green eye icon located near the title of the standard. It will turn grey indicating that it is now in your watch list.
  • You can view your watched standards by scrolling down to "My Watched Documents" on the Intertek Inform home page.
