Advice For the Beauty Therapy Industry (WA Dept of Health)
The following information has been developed to assist the beauty therapy industry with questions relating to skin penetration. Some beauty therapy procedures such as waxing, shaving, cosmetic tattooing, tweezing and electrolysis are considered a skin penetration procedure. If you are an operator providing any of these services, you need to be aware of the potential health risks and the importance of following correct infection control guidelines to prevent the spread of infections.
City of Joondalup - Skin Penetration Premises: Approval Requirements
The City of Joondalup uses the Code of Practice for Skin Penetration Procedures in relation to skin penetration practices and premises. Under the Regulations, the owner of an establishment must notify the City prior to construction, fit out or operation of a skin penetration premise and must also ensure the establishment and procedures comply with the Code.
